DMR GPS

GPS Setup

IPSC3 can receive GPS position information from supported DMR radios and forward valid positions into the network GPS map and APRS-IS gateway. The normal IPSC3 data service radio ID is 9998.

AnyTone GPS / APRS

  • Make sure the radio DMR ID is correct. IPSC3 uses that ID to look up the APRS callsign from RadioID.
  • Enable the GPS receiver and confirm the radio has a valid GPS lock before testing.
  • Create a digital contact named IPSC3 GPS as a private call to 9998.
  • In Digital APRS, enable reporting to the IPSC3 GPS contact on Timeslot 1.
  • Use an IPSC3 repeater or hotspot channel as the GPS/APRS report channel.
  • Leave Analog APRS off unless you specifically want separate RF APRS operation.
  • Do not beacon more often than every 10 minutes. Beaconing more often than every 10 minutes will result in your transmissions being blocked from the network for 1 hour.
